The Man Who Froze Fire | Book Review
TL;DR
Wow, what a read! This was nothing short of multiple, jaw-dropping thriller episodes, rolled into one book.
I started reading it on the flight from Bangalore to SFO and finished it in one sitting! If the book, “Tiger’s pause” on Art of Living’s role on conflict resolution in Sri Lanka, was eye-opening, this one was jaw-dropping.
I have great admiration for people like Mr. Sanjay Kumar, a dynamo teacher with Art of Living, who under the guidance of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, has brought tremendous transformation in the lives of so many factions, militants, ex-separatists of Kashmir for the better.
The book brought me to appreciate and respect the degree of impact to be had when you can inspire warring militant factions in the North East India, or separatists in Kashmir to let go of their old warring ways and embrace the path of peace and love.
Conflict resolution, and not just resolution, but lasting transformations towards peace is a super-power skill that has been demonstrated by the protagonist in this book.
The story of how Sanjay brought together the warring factions of Bihar — Ranvir Sena and CPI-M together gave me chills. Followed closely by the jaw-dropping maneuvers executed by Sanjay in getting ex-militants and ex-separatists to main-stream in Kashmir. And the hear-warming story of how hundreds of ULFA militants were brought back to main-stream through a 40 day program at Bangalore ashram.
This book is a must-read — I was on the edge of my seat, every few pages. I can totally see this become a beautiful movie.
As Gurudev beautifully mentioned in the International Film Festival at Goa, just this week, movies need to leave the audience with inspiration and a hope for something positive — And this book more than qualifies to be one in the category of a jaw-dropping inspiring documentary!
